Bafana Bafana assistant coach Pitso Mosimane has promised to adopt a far more adventurous attacking style, should he be granted his wish of becoming South Africa's new head coach.
Carlos Alberto Parreira's lucrative contract only took him until Bafana's last game at the 2010 World Cup, which to the disappointment of millions of fans, was the 2-1 win over France in their finals group game.
When asked what his immediate plans were, following South Africa's elimination from the competition, Mosimane said he will continue to watch the teams and continue to learn from them.
He said: "I'll follow the tournament, there's lots to learn, it's very exciting."
Parreira was critisised for only fielding one striker in Katlego Mphela in Bafana's opening two group games and eventually bowed to the pressure by including Bernard Parker to play up alongside the Sundowns man against Les Blues - a move which paid dividends as the Boys emerged the winners.
But Mosimane said he would take it one step further and follow the likes of Mexico, who adopted an attacking 4-3-3 formation.
He added: "Every World Cup you see evolution of systems and formations and I believe this World Cup is the evolution of a new shape of 4-3-3. South Americans are doing well, even Switzerland and we must move with the new trend."
Mosimane admitted that the extra striker helped the side against France although he still believes the sides lacks the killer instinct needed at World Cup level.
"We had more punch today because had two strikers - Parker was there.
"But you also have to look at teams like Mexico, who have three quality strikers and in my opinion if I'm the next coach we must look at systems like that. We can't go the same way again and again."
The South American's for example are good on the ball, they pass they ball well, they take their chances, they get one chance they take it.
"We are a bit lacking in that department."

Stats do not lie. The core group of players ages range between 26 and 30 years of all successful WC nations. Please let youngsters consistently prove themselves over a period of time before gradually introducing them into the national team. Just food for thought. Pitso do not follow world trends but rather understand SA football dynamics.
