PARS PRIMED FOR CUP UPSET

Dunfermline defender Neil McGregor has his sights set on a memorable Scottish Cup double over a Keane-inspired Celtic - even if he can barely remember his first triumph.

McGregor was in the Clyde team which stunned Celtic in the third round in 2006 on Roy Keane's debut for the Hoops. He now believes Dunfermline can add to Celtic's woes after on-loan Tottenham striker Robbie Keane's midweek debut ended in a shock 1-0 defeat at Kilmarnock.

McGregor's giant-killing experience has taught him to treat Sunday's fifth-round visitors to East End Park like any other team and he is optimistic the Pars can savour some memories of their own.

"You don't treat it any differently - it is just another 11 players," the 24-year-old said.

"You try not to think that you are up against 11 household names that you see every other week on the telly.

"There is a lot of hype surrounding them and there is a lot of pressure on them just now, they are not really picking up good results and fingers crossed we can add to their problems."

The former Kilmarnock trainee was in his debut season as a first-team player when Clyde created one of the biggest shocks in Scottish Cup history.

"I can't really remember much of the game, I just remember the celebrations after it," said McGregor, who has returned to full training after missing the replay victory over Stenhousemuir with a thigh strain.

"Obviously the boys were up for it and the game took care of itself when it came around.

"We wanted to play well and I guess we did that and showed that we could compete with them.

"We could have scored a couple more goals in the first half. One was disallowed for a foul that was never a foul, the other was ruled out for offside only for it to be proved later that it wasn't offside."
