GRANT: WE`LL KEEP SCOTT PARKER

Parker - not for sale.

West Ham boss Avram Grant is confident Spurs target Scott Parker will stay at Upton Park.

The combative midfielder was the subject of a £7million bid from Tottenham on Wednesday, with his performances during the 2009/10 campaign having brought him back into the spotlight.

That bid was immediately knocked back by the Hammers, though, with co-owner David Sullivan insisting the England international is not for sale at any price.

New Hammers boss Grant is delighted to have the full support of his board and is aware that Parker has an important role to play in helping to move the club forward.

He fully expects the former Chelsea and Newcastle man to remain at Upton Park for the foreseeable future and has no concerns regarding the 29-year-old's state of mind.

"From my side there is no news," Grant told Sky Sports News.

"We have ambitions at this club, we want to progress and we want to go forward. We have a plan for the next few years, not only for one year, and Scott Parker is a big part of these plans.

"I am happy for him. He is a good player and he is a good lad. He is good for the vision of the club.

"He is professional. He knows that he is a very important part of our ambitions to progress and to be a very good team."

Grant has also confirmed that he remains in the market for new recruits, with West Ham keen to avoid a repeat of last season's relegation battle.

He added: "We have a good group but we can make this group stronger and we are looking for players that can make us stronger."

The Israeli coach has, however, refused to confirm that Nice striker Loic Remy is among those he is looking to bring on board.

"I will not speak about players that we haven't signed," said Grant.

"We have two or three players that we want to sign, in positions that can improve the team, but when we sign someone we will let you know."
