Although the Buccaneers are the favourites to advance, Ruud Krol has a raft of injury and suspension problems to contend with, especially in defence.

First-choice centre-backs Lucas Thwala (ankle and knee) and Rooi Mahamutsa (suspension) are both unavailable.

Happy Jele and Thulasizwe Mbuyane will sit out as the pair are also serving bans.

There is some good news for Pirates as Clifford Ngobeni has recovered from an ankle injury meaning that he, along with new recruits Chiukepo Msowoya, Daine Klate, Mark Mayambela and Patrick Malokase, are all in contention to feature at the Orlando Stadium.

The visitors have talked up their chances of beating Bucs and to that end hope new signings Peter Mponda, who arrived from Black Leopards, and on-loan Jomo Cosmos striker Sekou Camara can have an immediate impact.
