Carlos Alberto Parreira is expecting Bafana Bafana to dish out another drubbing when they host Zimbabwe in an international friendly at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
South Africa eased past Swaziland 6-2 over the weekend in a practice match which the Brazilian admitted met his objectives. While the attacking department was on fire against Dennis Masina and co, the coach expressed concern over the errors made by his backline.
"We lost possession too easily for those goals. That shouldn't happen at this level," he said after the victory. Parreira admitted that the substitutions he made against Swaziland, which effectively saw him field two different teams in either half, could have been to blame for the defensive frailties.
However, against the Warriors, there will be no such inconsistencies.
"We cannot use two different sides in that match, we can only use eleven plus six (subs)," he added.
"If we make changes, it won't be more than two to the first eleven."
Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back Matthew Booth, who claimed the blame for Bafana's failure to keep a clean sheet in their first outing of 2010, believes Zimbabwe will provide a greater challenge for the side.
"Zimbabwe have a stronger all round side in defence, midfield and attack. We will be dealing with the likes of my own team-mate Esrom Nyandoro, Kaizer Chiefs Tinashe Nengomasha, Knowledge Musonda and other top class Zimbabweans who play in the PSL," he said.
Parreira is expected to field the same side that started against Swaziland, with Katlego Mphela once again leading the line. The striker will be the focus of Zimbabwe's defence according to Thomas Sweswe.
"Mphela has proven to be a quality striker and his scoring record bears testimony to that. If left unattended he can be a pain in the neck but we want to mark him out of the game," the Kaizer Chiefs defender told Football365.co.za.
His coach, Sunday Chidzambwa, added that Zimbabwe will not roll over for the World Cup hosts in the same way that Swaziland did.
"We will not be a soft target for Bafana. We are in the rebuilding process and have different goals to Bafana," he told SAPA
"But one thing is for sure, we will make a game of it. There will not be six goals in it.
"If Bafana manage to beat us it will be by one goal definitely not six."
Chiefs starlet Knowledge Musona will line-up against his Premier Soccer League compatriots and should be Bafana's biggest concern on Wednesday night.
"We are determined to make Bafana work hard and put up a good show that is why I brought a strong squad mixed with promising youngsters such Musona who will start the game," added Chidzambwa.
"I know what to expect. They are improving and showed that by the way they defeated Swaziland. We will help them with their preparations for the 2010 World Cup but we are determined to make Bafana work hard."
