Rep of Ireland v South Africa

Bafana Bafana will be hoping for a better result and a galvanised performance when they tackle Ireland in Limerick on Tuesday.

Germany eased past the 2010 World Cup hosts on Saturday night, with a 2-0 scoreline flattering South Africa.

Coach Joel Santana and captain Aaron Mokoena insisted the friendly was a learning process and the skipper is expecting to gain more international insight against Giovanni Trapattoni's men.

"We had a really a good game against Germany, they are a very experienced team and of course, they've been playing at the top level a long, long time," he said.

"The reason we're playing these teams is that they have something we can learn from and Ireland are one of those teams we can really gain something from.

"Germany and Ireland provide two different styles of football, the Irish play like English players - they are tough, strong players, players who you have to get in contact with.

"Most of them play in the English leagues where the tempo of the game is very high. So that is what we will need to match."

Santana, who employed three defensive midfielders against the Germans, is set to drop a destroyer - most likely Bevan Fransman in favour of Siphiwe Tshabalala. But goalkeeper Shu-Aib Walters will play no part in the encounter after breaking his finger in training and Steven Pienaar is a fitness doubt for the visitors.

Meanwhile, the hosts will be without senior players Robbie Keane, Richard Dunne, Shay Given and Kevin Kilbane, who have been rewarded for their hard-fought win in Cyprus with additional time off.

Damien Duff is expected to be handed the captain's armband in Keane's absence.
