SuperSport United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Wayne Brown from English League Two side Bury.
The 33-year-old joins Matsatsantsa on a free transfer after leaving Bury earlier this European summer following the expiration of his contract.
The former England C international made over 500 appearances for the Shakers and will inject a wealth of experience into the Premier Soccer League champions.
SuperSport boss Gavin Hunt has looked at goalkeepers from all across Europe, including one from Barcelona, but he offered Brown a three-year deal after the stopper impressed in training.
"There are no top keepers available in South Africa. If there are, please send them to me. That is why I had to go to England," Hunt told SAPA.
"Brown is 33 and the right age for a mature goalkeeper. He will be an asset to us."
Brown recently revealed his delight at linking up with SuperSport.
"It's a great opportunity. It's not often you get the chance to play your football abroad.
"During the World Cup it was clear to see the infrastructure is superb over there.
"Supersport are a very good side and I'm sure I will enjoy playing there," he said.
However, Brown will not feature in Sunday night's African Confederations Cup third round, second leg showdown against FUS Rabat.
The PSL champions have only one registered keeper for the tie after the departure of Denis Onyango to Mpumalanga Black Aces this week.
"But like (defender/midfielder) Bradley Carnell and striker Kermit Erasmus who I have also signed, I cannot use them against FUS due to CAF's out of date registration rulings," Hunt added.
"The bottom line is I have only one keeper registered with CAF."
