Jimmy Tau insists Kaizer Chiefs will start the new season the same way the club always does - with a deep desire to achieve silverware.
The Amakhosi skipper is delighted with the side's pre-season preparations and is looking forward to competing in the first tournament of the campaign - the Telkom Charity Cup.
Chiefs have been dominating the voting for the day-long showpiece and Tau told Football365.co.za: "We are hoping to be part of the event.
"Obviously it augurs well for the club and our supporters because it just shows how many fans we have in the country. Hopefully they will keep voting and make sure we finish in top spot."
The Glamour Boys have been pretty quiet in the transfer market, while Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United have pulled off some massive coups.
But Tau believes the modest signings made by Chiefs will benefit the club when the season starts. "Our transfer situation is a management issue so I can't comment on that.
"So far, the guys that have come in have settled in well within the structures of the team. The new players are just happy to experience the global trend that is Kaizer Chiefs."
Chiefs have watched SuperSport lift the PSL crown three years running and want to halt Gavin Hunt's men and their other main rivals in the upcoming campaign.
"That is exactly what we are aiming for - the league title," Tau said.
"It has always been an objective for the club to do well in everything we compete it including the cup competitions."
The defender admitted Amakhosi are already feeling the effects of Tinashe Nengomasha's move to Qatar after his eight-year stint with Chiefs.
"We will miss his commitment. I think we learnt a lot from him as an individual," added Tau.
"He has contributed immensely to the team's success and was a great servant for the club.
"Chiefs will miss him personally and professionally, but we hope he will find success in his new challenge."
