George Comitis the Ajax Cape Town CEO announced today that the head coach, Muhsin Ertugral has resigned.
The former Kaizer Chiefs boss is set for a return to his homeland in Turkey where he will take up the coaching job at Sivasspor.
"It is with regret that I announce the immediate departure of our Head Coach, Muhsin," said Comitis.
"Muhsin has been offered a highly lucrative contract with Turkish Premiere Club, Sivasspor.
"Sivasspor who ended as runners up in the Turkish League last season, have dismissed their current coach and approached our coach.
"This is an offer that Muhsin cannot refuse and it has always been his dream to coach a top level team in Turkey.
"Ajax Cape Town will never stand in the way of any footballer or coach who gets an opportunity to further their career with an overseas contract.
"On the positive side, this will open a door for us into Turkey for our players seeking to play at higher levels.
"In the interim Jan Pruijn will oversee the team over the next couple of weeks as we will soon be announcing a new Head Coach soon.
"Although we are not happy to let him go, this has been an amicable separation and we wish Muhsin all the best with his new career."
