Clifford Ngobeni is hoping he can help new club Orlando Pirates compete for glory in the Telkom Charity Cup on 7 August.
The industrious midfielder recently joined the Buccaneers from Ajax Cape Town and is naturally eager to impress his new employers.
"It would be nice to be part of the Telkom Charity Cup as this will be my first," he said on Pirates' official website.
"I am looking forward to the experience and hopefully I can make my mark sooner rather than later.
"But it is up to the supporters to ensure that they vote in their numbers so that dream can be a realisation.
"Not forgetting, this is for charity so the more votes the better."
On Thursday afternoon, Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs and Pirates were leading the voting race to participate at the traditional season opener at the National Stadium (formerly Soccer City).
