Leonard: Looking to impress

Augustine Leonard is confident that he can help fire Moroka Swallows to a top three finish in the PSL this season.

The under-20 international believes the Beautiful Birds have the squad to challenge for the title this term.

"We are looking forward to this season," he told the PSL's official website.

"I would like to see us move up the standing, hopefully finish in the top three. I feel we have a strong enough squad to challenge for honours this coming season."

The 19-year-old formed part of Khabo Zondo's Amajita side that did duty earlier this month and he feels that the experience has improved him as a player.

"I feel much stronger now compared to last season and I want to score more goals," he added.

"Being with the national team has helped me a lot and prepared me for my second season in the Premier Soccer League."

The Soweto outfit will compete in the Mangaung Cup in Botshabelo this weekend and Leonard says the tournament will be good preparation for a gruelling PSL season.

"We have had an intense pre-season thus far, so it will be interesting to see how far we have progressed as a side. Such tournaments are great for the team and they help us immensely in preparing for the gruelling season ahead."
