Zimbabwe international Knowledge Musona was named Premier Soccer League Rookie of the Year in Johannesburg on Thursday.
The 20-year-old was adjudged to have been the most exciting newcomer to the league in the 2009/2010 season.
The striker, who netted five times in 21 appearances for the Soweto giants last term, beat off the likes of Andile Jali and Siyanda Xulu to walk away with the gong.
A delighted Musona told Chiefs' official website: "It was tough because I was competing with some of the best players in the country, some of them who are the future of South African football.
"I would like to thank my teammates at Kaizer Chiefs and the technical team for the faith they showed in me last season.
"The most important thing for me is to win as the team and I am hoping to contribute to more success for the team this coming season."
