Santos and Ajax Cape Town face off at the Athlone Stadium on Saturday in one of the most eagerly-anticipated Cape derbies in years.
Ajax currently lie in second place in the PSL standings while Santos lie in third and this will be seen as a must-win game for both teams if they are to have any chance of closing the gap on league-leaders SuperSport.
Both outfits will be desperate to get back to winning ways after playing out to stalemates in their previous encounter.
Santos coach Boebie Solomons is in confident mood after earning a valuable away point against Bloemfontein Celtic during midweek.
He told the club's official website: "The Engen Santos FC team goes into the Cape Town derby against Ajax Cape Town after a moral boosting draw against Bloemfontein Celtic in Bloemfontein.
"The derby will be one of the most anticipated derbies in recent years as both teams are doing very well. The match is also the first game back at the newly revamped Athlone Stadium and it is fitting that the Engen Santos FC and Ajax Cape Town match takes place."
Solomons will be without the services of Thabiso Ntloana, who is still serving suspension for red card against Kaizer Chiefs while Tawonga Chimodzi is sidelined with a knee injury.
Ajax's Lance Davids believes that the game is a 50-50 and stated the importance of coming away with the three points.
He told the PSL's official website: "It's always been a special game and there should be a great atmosphere at Athlone. No matter what the form or position of each club, it's a 50-50 match.
"For Ajax this is a must win match; we need to keep SuperSport within our sights and we still believe we have what it takes to win the league. We are creating chances but not scoring and this is something we have to put right."
Ajax boss Foppe de Haan will be without Brett Evans, Sameehg Doutie and Stanton Lewis, who are all sidelined with injuries while Nhlanhla Shabalala misses out through suspension.
