SuperSport's quest for a third successive title now looks pretty secure after their win over Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday evening.
Matsatsansa now have a seven point lead over nearest rivals Ajax Cape Town at the top of the PSL standings after the Urban Warriors drew with Free State Stars .
Gavin Hunt admitted that his team were well below par in the first half against Chiefs but in the end two breakaway goals within three minutes handed them a priceless three points.
He said: "We weren't at our best in the first half and it was difficult to build any attacks.
"We squeezed it a bit more in the second half and managed to get the goals that mattered.
"We haven't been playing well lately but it's not about how well you play but how many points you get."
SuperSport meet Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday in a run of seven games in 22 days that will probably decide whether they can match Mamelodi Sundowns' record of three PSL titles between 1998 and 2000.
Ever the pragmatist, Hunt refused to look further than that match but he must be confident that his functional team can make history.
"There's 13 games to go so there's lot to do. We just have to keep picking up points and see where we are at the break for Christmas," he said.
