Kjetil Węhler placed Joel Santana's head in the guillotine on Saturday as he scored the winner in Norway's 1-0 win over South Africa.
It was Bafana Bafana's seventh defeat in eight matches and the only goal came in the 49th minute when Węhler capitalised on some lackadaisical defending.
For Norway it was sweet revenge for their 2-1 defeat which Bafana inflicted on them in March in a friendly played in Rustenburg.
Norway were all over Bafana in a one-sided first half in which the South Africans failed to test Norwegian goalkeeper Jon Knudsen.
The busiest Bafana player was Moeneeb Josephs who did well to cut out a dangerous cross into his area by Blackburn Rovers winger Morten Gamst Pedersen after two minutes.
Josephs was a little fortunate in the 20th minute when the Norwegian League's top goal scorer Erik Huseklepp rounded him but shot into the side netting.
The Bafana shot-stopper did well to deny Pedersen in the 26th and 27th minutes but the Pirates star made the best save of the match on the half-hour mark when he brilliantly saved Henning Haugar's rocket of a shot.
The home team got their deserved breakthrough three minutes after half-time when the ball-watching Bafana defenders failed to pick up Węhler who strolled past the defence to head Pedersen's long throw into the back of the net.
Knudsen made a routine save off Dikgacoi in the 77th minute and a minute later former Liverpool star John Arne Riise fired a left-footed bullet fractionally wide of the post.
Knudsen made his first real save from a shot from Katlego Mphela in the 81st minute as and that was as good as it got for a mediocre South African outfit.
